Designing the Feeling

A storm, a delayed flight, a dinner in a cave. Nicole Stekelorum's guests noticed none of it. Amora Concierge is built so they never do.

Luxury travel often celebrates what can be seen. Nicole focuses on what can be felt. As the founder of Amora Concierge, she designs high-end travel and gatherings with an emphasis on intention, emotional flow, and human connection, creating experiences that linger long after guests return home.

Nicole's path to founding Amora was not driven by a single moment of inspiration, but by a pattern she observed repeatedly throughout her career. After years working across hospitality, private service, and high-level event planning, she noticed that the most unforgettable experiences were rarely the most complex. They were the ones crafted with restraint, beauty, and care. Moments where everything felt considered, yet nothing felt forced.

"I wanted to build a company that blended curated travel, elevated design, and human connection," she explains. "Not just organizing logistics, but shaping the entire experience."

That distinction sits at the heart of Amora Concierge. It is not a traditional travel agency, nor is it a standard event-planning studio. Instead, it functions as an experience design house, one where every detail is built from scratch and aligned to the emotional purpose of the gathering.

From Logistics to Lived Experience

Amora's work spans multi-destination travel, private retreats, and deeply personal celebrations, often for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and close-knit groups. Nicole has curated vacations for groups of 20 guests that unfold seamlessly across superyachts, private villas, and some of the world's most coveted destinations. These journeys are designed as a single, continuous narrative rather than a series of bookings.

Transitions matter. So does flow. Guests are never meant to feel the mechanics behind the experience. Alongside travel, Amora designs gatherings that range from intimate baby showers to annual Thanksgiving family retreats that evolve year after year. The scale varies, but the intention does not. Nicole has also produced large destination experiences, including full property and private island buyouts such as Necker Island, where precision and adaptability are non-negotiable.

"Across all of this work, the goal is the same," she says. "To make complex travel and events feel easy, personal, and human."

Guests don't see the contingency plans, vendor negotiations, or late-night adjustments. They simply feel cared for, present, and connected to one another.

Building Resilience Behind the Scenes

That sense of effortlessness is hard-won. As a solo founder, Nicole has had to learn every aspect of the business, often simultaneously. Design, logistics, negotiations, budgeting, brand building, crisis management, and on-site direction are all part of her daily reality.

"Every day feels like a new challenge," she says. "You're constantly adapting."

Working with UHNW clients also demands confidence and composure. Expectations are high, margins for error are slim, and circumstances can change instantly. Nicole points to one high-end retreat she designed for a YPO group as a defining moment. A rare storm disrupted setup, a delayed flight forced a full itinerary overhaul, and an off-road experience added unexpected complexity, culminating in a cave dinner that required painstaking coordination due to terrain.

"It was challenging," she recalls. "But everything fell into place as intended."

The guests noticed none of the behind-the-scenes adjustments. What they experienced was cohesion, calm, and care. That, for Nicole, is the measure of success.

Each challenge has sharpened Amora's approach. Systems became essential. Resourcefulness turned into instinct. And resilience became a core competency rather than an occasional necessity.

A Philosophy Rooted in Personalization

What sets Amora apart is not access to luxury, but an obsession with personalization. Nicole does not work from templates or repeatable formats. Every retreat, event, and itinerary is designed to feel singular, as though it could not belong to anyone else.

"I'm not just booking hotels or coordinating vendors," she explains. "I'm designing the flow of the experience. The dinners, the workshops, the activities, the moments in between."

Clients trust Amora because their needs are often anticipated before they are articulated. The work carries a sense of soul, not just polish. Luxury is present, but it is never performative.

This philosophy also shapes how Nicole views trends. Rather than chasing what is popular, she listens closely to what her clients actually want. Tastes, expectations, and reasons for gathering vary widely, and trends rarely capture that nuance.

"My work responds to how people want to feel," she says, "not a predefined formula."

The Amora Process

Amora's flagship offering begins with listening. Nicole takes time to understand not only the logistics of a trip or event, but the people involved and the deeper purpose behind the gathering. From there, she develops a comprehensive proposal that outlines the experience as a whole, whether it is a vacation, celebration, or retreat.

Plans are refined collaboratively. Details are adjusted until everything feels aligned. Once direction is set, Amora moves into full execution, handling logistics and coordination while remaining closely involved throughout.

Presence is non-negotiable. Whether a client reaches out in the middle of the night, requests a last-minute change, or needs on-site support, Amora stays engaged from start to finish.

"The goal is for clients to feel supported at every step," Nicole says. "They shouldn't have to manage anything on their own."

Culture, Values, and Connection

At its core, Amora is built on respect and gratitude. Relationships with clients, partners, and on-the-ground teams are rooted in mutual care and trust. Emotional awareness is treated as a design element, not an afterthought.

"Connection is essential to the way we work," Nicole explains. "Meaningful experiences come from understanding the people behind them."

This does not mean manufacturing emotion. It means creating space for it. When respect and connection are present, the experience naturally becomes more thoughtful and more human.

Looking Ahead

In the years ahead, Nicole envisions Amora becoming synonymous with intentional retreats and gatherings that foster genuine connection, whether for families, friends, or business communities. There is, she notes, a quiet sense of healing in that work. Not in a performative sense, but through care, beauty, and thoughtful design.

In the near term, Amora is preparing for two highly anticipated retreats. One is a Burning Man-inspired getaway featuring musical performances and custom art installations. The other is a Renaissance-themed family retreat, where guests are working with costume designers throughout the year to fully inhabit their characters.

Both reflect what Amora does best: creating spaces where logistics disappear, details matter, and people leave feeling more connected to one another and to themselves.

For Nicole, that outcome is the ultimate luxury.
